Absorbest technology
Absorbest technology
Why it works
Whether applied in medical or other products our superabsorbent is able to absorb – and hold – large amounts of water-based liquids such as iodine solution, irrigation fluid and amniotic fluid as well as urine, blood and wound exudates.
The contact layer absorbs and transports fluid and distributes it vertically and evenly into the Absorbest core of superabsorbent polymers, keeping the surface comfortable for the user. By locking in fluids without dripping, the products also contribute to hygiene control.
The ultra-thin and highly conformable material makes our innovation suitable for a wide range of applications – from advanced wound care to efficient cleaning and high quality food transports.

How we do it
We set high standards for ourselves and our products. They meet the environmental, hygiene and functional requirements of regulatory and health authorities world wide. Wound Care and Operation Room products are manufactured in our modern clean room and produced in a controlled zone.
Evidence is the back-bone of our development. We are one of very few companies operating in this sector which has total control over its entire production process, from raw materials to finished product. We do not use any semi-manufactured components. This full integration of manufacture enables us to introduce changes quickly and be responsive to our customers’ demands.
Working from our deep knowledge and experience, we devote both energy and time improving existing products – and inventing new. Right now Absorbest is in a very exciting stage of development, where our superabsorbent is combined with printed electronic sensors.

The population of chronic wounds are growing worldwide. Less and less resources is to be shared among a growing group of individuals. The industry has an important responsibility to continuously develop products that contribute to improved health and reduced costs. Products need to be easy to handle and understand, creating a basis for a more efficient handling.
Next generation wound dressings will lead to a severely more controlled quality of the wound healing. Next generation wound dressings will go from being just a tool to manage the wound to become an integrated device that enhances practice efficiency and optimises dressing change frequency.
Next generation wound dressings will allow valuable nursing time to be released as well as help both care givers and relatives to more easily monitor the wound treatment.
